On Sunday, September 15, 2025, the Friends of Fort DuPont hosted another successful Sketch the Seasons event in partnership with Urban Sketchers Delaware. The weather could not have been more perfect, setting the stage for an afternoon filled with creativity, community, and appreciation of the natural beauty of historic Fort DuPont State Park.
More than 15 artists—ranging from beginners to experienced sketchers—gathered across the Fort to capture the scenery. From the vibrant late-summer colors to the historic architecture and serene river views, every sketch told a unique story about Fort DuPont’s rich landscape and history.
This was the second time the Friends of Fort DuPont has partnered with Urban Sketchers Delaware, and once again the collaboration brought people together to experience the Fort in a new way. By blending history, nature, and art, Sketch the Seasons helps highlight the campus as a place where creativity thrives alongside preservation and community engagement.
Events like this align with the Friends’ mission to bring life back to the Fort through arts, culture, and community programming. Whether it’s sketching, live music, or historical reenactments, each program provides new opportunities for people to connect with this special place.
We thank Urban Sketchers Delaware for joining us again and all the artists who came out to make this day a success. Stay tuned for future arts and cultural events at Fort DuPont—and don’t forget to follow us on social media for updates!
