🎓 Student Interns Power a Growing Online Presence

Student Interns Power a Growing Online Presence

At the Friends of Fort DuPont, our growing digital presence wouldn’t be possible without help from a talented group of student interns.

Over the past year, we’ve partnered with Parker Dewey, a platform that connects college students to short-term micro-internships. Thanks to this partnership, we’ve welcomed three student interns who supported everything from website updates to social media content and community outreach materials.

Each intern brought a different skill set. One focused on graphic design. Another crafted captions and email newsletters. A third helped reorganize parts of our site to improve navigation and accessibility.

They helped us tell the story of Fort DuPont in new and engaging ways. Through reels, posts, and curated emails, they made history come alive online.

The benefits went both ways. These micro-internships gave students real-world experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, and project management. In turn, we gained energy, creativity, and new insights from a younger generation.

As a small nonprofit, access to fresh ideas and digital skills has been invaluable. The interns helped us grow faster than we could have on our own.

We’re especially thankful to Parker Dewey for making these connections possible. They’ve helped us shape the future of our communications—and given students meaningful, hands-on opportunities to make an impact.

We look forward to welcoming more young professionals as we continue to grow and connect with our community.
