Behind the scenes of the Friends of Fort DuPont’s growing online presence is a small but mighty group of young professionals who are helping shape the way we connect with our community.
Over the past year, we’ve been proud to welcome three student interns through Parker Dewey, a platform that connects college students with micro-internships at mission-driven organizations. These interns have supported us in updating our website, creating content for social media, and crafting outreach materials that reflect our evolving brand.
Each student brought something unique to the table—from graphic design skills and writing chops to a knack for audience engagement. They helped us tell the Fort’s story through Instagram reels, curated our email newsletters, and reorganized parts of our website to improve accessibility and clarity.
These internships provided more than just temporary support—they infused our organization with fresh ideas and youthful energy. The students gained real-world experience in nonprofit communication, project management, and digital strategy, while we benefited from their insight and enthusiasm.
As a small nonprofit, having access to motivated college students eager to contribute has been a game-changer. We’re deeply grateful to Parker Dewey for making these connections possible, and we look forward to continuing to offer meaningful opportunities to the next generation of changemakers.
