Enjoy brews from Bellefonte Brewing–plus food from Bailey’s Dawgs and Kona Ice–during a lighthearted evening of Shakespeare.

  • Saturday, June 7– Juneteenth Event 
  • Saturday, June 7 – Fort DuPont Battery Hike by State Parks @ 10-11am. Fort DuPont started out as a coastal defense site. For this program, we will explore why Fort DuPont was important, and how coastal defense on the base functioned. 
  • Sunday, June 15 – Sketch the Fort, hosted by the Friends of Fort DuPont and Urban Sketchers DE @ 12-3pm. Bring your sketchpad and creativity to the historic military buildings of Fort DuPont in Delaware City. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just curious, come explore the textures of history, meet fellow sketchers, and bring the Fort’s stories to life—one drawing at a time. All ages and skill levels welcome!
  • Thursday, June 19– Juneteenth Event 
  • Friday, June 20 – Fort Folk Fest, hosted by the Friends of Fort DuPont and the Delaware Friends of Folk @ 7-9pm, featuring Bruce Anthony, jazz and bluesBruce is a jazz guitarist who grew up and learned to play guitar in Chester, PA.  His signature guitar stylings and smooth baritone voice have been entertaining Delaware audiences for 30 years.  Now living in Bellefonte, Bruce continues to sharpen his skills with regular gigs.  More info on Bruce here.
  • Sunday, June 22– Juneteenth Event 

July 2025 

  • Saturday, July 5Native Flora Walk @ 10-11am, hosted by the Friends of Fort DuPont & DE State Parks. In this new program, we will walk the trails and talk about the native flora of Fort DuPont and its effect on wildlife. We will also touch on the invasive species in the area, and how they affect the local habitat.
  • Friday, July 18– Fort Folk Fest, hosted by the Friends of Fort DuPont and the Delaware Friends of Folk @ 7-9pm, featuring The Blarney Pilgrims, Irish Traditional music.  The Blarney Pilgrims are a trio of musicians who specialize in Celtic, Irish, English, and early American music on a variety of acoustic instruments The musicians include Meri Holden (violin), Andy Dowell (flute), and Brad Stevens (mandolin, octave mandolin, hammered dulcimer, Celtic harp).  Their music includes traditional Irish and Celtic jigs, reels, and waltzes, plus more modern compositions from some of today’s great Celtic artists.  Performances include melodies, songs, and sea shanties, to which the audience is encouraged to sing along.  Their renditions of traditional tunes often incorporate non-traditional harmonies and rhythms More info on the Blarney Pilgrims here.
  • Saturday, July 19 – Fort DuPont History Walk by DE State Parks @ 10-11am. Fort DuPont has a fascinating history that spans from the mid 1860s to the present! Join a park historian as we walk the grounds and explore some of the stories that make this place significant. 

 

August 2025 

  • Tuesday, August 5 – National Night Out 
  • Friday, August 15 – Fort Folk Fest, hosted by the Friends of Fort DuPont and the Delaware Friends of Folk @ 7-9pm, featuring Mother’s Highway Junction, original folk and Americana. The local band’s tagline, “the World’s First and Only Original Folk Power Trio,” is both a bit mischievous and a good description of their range of songs and live sound.   Many of their tunes are written by band leader Mike Miller, and most of the rest come from the Americana and roots catalogThe band often rearranges these traditional songs into fresh and innovative versions, reminding us that what matters is what’s going on todayMHJ formed in 2018 and has performed across Delaware in a variety of venuesMiller was awarded an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Delaware Division of the Arts in 2023, and the band commands a small yet loyal followingThe band’s roster is completed by John Kidd on harmonica and vocals, and Bob Hamel on bass guitar. September 2025 

  • Sunday, September 14 – Sketch the Fort, hosted by the Friends of Fort DuPont and Urban Sketchers DE @ 12-3pm.  Join us for a nature inspired afternoon as we explore the beauty of Fort DuPont’s landscapes, gardens, and wildlife through your sketchbook. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, come capture the vibrant flora and fauna that call the Fort home. All ages and skill levels welcome—just bring your supplies and your sense of wonder!
  • Friday, September 19 – Fort Folk Fest, hosted by the Friends of Fort DuPont and the Delaware Friends of Folk @ 7-9pm, featuring The Honey Badgers, original folk and AmericanaWhen Michael Natrin asked Erin Magnin to dust off her fiddle and join him for a couple songs at a local songwriter showcase, the two never imagined they were creating a musical partnership that would continue far into the future Playfully calling themselves The Honey Badgers, the two discovered a chemistry between their voices and the duo was born in the summer of 2011 They are known for their intense, unique harmonies, their sincere lyrics and melodies, and their undeniable and captivating onstage charm. Weaving their voices together over driving guitar, wistful violin, and punchy harmonica, The Badgers spin stories and songs about finding yourself, finding each other, and finding your way in the world.
